Destination Bromyard

Destination Bromyard

From hidden gem to must-visit destination, Bromyard is redefining what a market town can be.

With a rich history, thriving independent businesses and a strong community spirit, the town had all the right ingredients. What it lacked was visibility, engagement and a compelling identity that could draw visitors in and keep them coming back.

That’s where Nifty stepped in. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, we took on the challenge of marketing Bromyard like never before by delivering bold branding, a dynamic PR strategy and an engaging social media presence that put the town on the map.

THE PROBLEM:

A town with potential but no visibility. Despite its picturesque charm and vibrant local businesses, Bromyard wasn’t attracting the footfall or visitor numbers it deserved. The key challenges were:

🚫 Low awareness – Bromyard wasn’t a go-to destination for tourists.
🚫 Limited marketing & branding – No strong, recognisable identity to promote the town.
🚫 Underutilised spaces – The historic Market Square wasn’t maximised to drive footfall.
🚫 Lack of a cohesive digital strategy – The town had no consistent social media or website presence to engage potential visitors.

With £110,000 in funding secured from Herefordshire Council, Bromyard needed a high-impact strategy to revitalise its reputation, draw in tourists and create a sustainable legacy for future growth.

THE SOLUTION:

A multi-layered regeneration plan and a complete rebrand and marketing transformation was required – one that would reignite pride within the town and make Bromyard a true visitor hotspot. Nifty led the charge on branding, PR and digital marketing, ensuring Bromyard’s story reached the right audiences.

🔥 A Bold New Identity – We worked with local creatives to refresh Bromyard’s branding, creating a distinctive, vibrant identity rooted in its heritage. This included logo design, branded signage and a suite of marketing materials to build recognition and awareness.

🔥 Bringing Back the Market Square – To revive Bromyard’s commercial heartbeat, we helped launch a monthly Sunday Market, starting with a street-food festival during the Platinum Jubilee Weekend. Within just four months, traders grew from 9 to 23 and footfall surged.

🔥 Unmissable PR & Media Coverage – Nifty’s high-impact PR campaign secured:

41.3 million online impressions
National coverage including the Daily Mail, BBC Radio 2, and Have I Got News for You
Social media engagement that amplified the town’s unique identity

🔥 A Digital Transformation – We built a strong online presence for Bromyard, launching:

A branded website to showcase attractions, businesses, and events.
Strategic social media campaigns that reached 105K+ people.
QR-coded wayfinding signage to enhance visitor experience and keep them engaged.

🔥 Creative Installations & Street Art – To bring life back into Bromyard’s streets, we supported the installation of:

Public murals and artworks celebrating the town’s history and culture.
Wayfinding signage to encourage exploration and discovery.
The ‘Backward D’ Campaign, a playful branding experiment that generated national discussion and helped put Bromyard in the spotlight.

THE RESULTS:

A town reborn with record-breaking engagement.

🚀 Market Square Revival – The Sunday Market became a standout success, increasing footfall and boosting trade for local businesses.

🚀 41.3M+ Media Reach – Nifty’s PR campaign propelled Bromyard onto the national stage, securing coverage in BBC, Daily Mail and major media platforms.

🚀 Massive Social Growth – Facebook engagement surged by 226K impressions and the town’s Instagram audience expanded significantly.

🚀 Increased Visitor Numbers – With new branding, signage and marketing, Bromyard saw a marked increase in tourist interest and weekend footfall.

🚀 Long-Term Growth Strategy – The success of this campaign paved the way for future funding and investment, ensuring Bromyard’s development doesn’t stop here.

“Thanks to Destination Bromyard and the NIfty Comms team, people are seeing that Bromyard has so much to offer. It’s not just promotion - it’s genuine support for local tourism and business.”
